Srinagar, May 30 (KNO): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan Thursday directed Director Social Welfare Kashmir, to disburse monthly pension to old age, widow, physically challenged persons before Eid-ul-Fitr on priority basis so that these persons do not face any inconvenience during festive days. The Divisional Commissioner made these directions while reviewing the issues of Integrated Social Welfare Scheme for Old age, Widow, Physically Challenged persons. He directed Social Welfare Department to organize redressal camps after Eid and do rectification work on spot and send the complete report to the Divisional Commissioner’s office within a week for further necessary action. Khan reiterated that government is committed to create a social security network for the underprivileged and the weaker sections of the society. Khan further stressed to create greater awareness among the masses regarding the Integrated Social Welfare Schemes and facilitating them to join the schemes so that benefits reach the intended sections of the Society. Director Social Welfare, Mission Director ICDS, senior officer of centre for development of advance computing (Ministry of IT) and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.(KNO)
